Cooking Steak In Oven – How To Cook Steak In The Oven Quickly & Easy!

Steak is one of the hardest meats to cook properly so I’ve written this article to give some ideas on how to cook a steak in the oven. There are several methods I can use to cook steak, but all methods work. All of these methods are easy to duplicate at home and cost much less than pre-cooked steak at the grocery store. With all methods you cook your steak in indirect heat which can cause the steak to burn faster than direct heat. I will explain each method and give examples of when it would be best to use one versus the other.

Traditional methods recommend raising the meat to a point that cooks it quickly, typically around 200 degrees C. With traditional cooking you would either place the meat on the hot grill or bake it. Personally I like to bake it because finding that using a steak oven to cook it evenly cooks the meat evenly. Just remember to always place the pan on the lowest rack in the oven when baking.

The indirect heat from the oven cooks the meat evenly and thoroughly, while letting the juices from the beef dissipate through the sides of the pan and away from the center. After 10 minutes per side or until the meat is done, place in the steamer. Use the steamer to let the juices escape and finish cooking the steak in the oven.
